BBQ for Lunch

The weather has been really nice, so my husband and I had family and friends over for a bbq today. Doesn’t that look delicious? There’s BBQ Chicken, Steak, Mushrooms, Shrimp Wonton, Edamame, rice, salad, chips and salsa.

This is the second year of the “Edible Book Contest” at my workplace (I work in a library). And the entries are even better than last year! Here’s my favorite so far (they’re still trickling in). It’s James and the Giant Peach, submitted by Rebecca B. How cute is that??
The rules are, everything in the entry has to be edible, and it has to depict a book.

I had ramen for lunch today, and my tummy was quite happy! There’s a small Japanese restaurant in Rosemead, CA called Shin-sen-gumi Hakata Ramen, that just makes you feel like you’re visiting Japan. As you walk in, you’re greeted with “itashimasu” (welcome in Japanese) and then seated.
Today I got the Special Pork Flavored Noodle with a side of rice with grounded chicken bowl. Good stuff! My husband got ramen with a side order of gyozas. Noodle refill is only 95 cents. And the service is very fast and excellent.
